We use made in the USA Type III paracord which is rated at a minimum breaking strength of 550 pounds.  The paracord has seven inner strands that can be removed when finer string is needed, for instance as sewing thread to repair gear or fishing line in a survival situation. The list goes on and on!  Paracord will not rot or mildew so it uses are endless. One inch of braided paracord equals approximately one foot of unraveled paracord.
